Mise-en-scene - what is in the scene Lighting - The arrangement of effect of light High or low camera angles. Different shot distances. Any camera movement. Fades or dissolves. The Continuity System: 180 degree rule Establishing shots Match cuts on action Eyeline match cuts POV shots Shot-reverse shot This short film features a repetitive track of music which becomes almost irritating just like the cheesy edit tools and corny performances. - It opens to a fade in - Features fades and dissolves - An establishing shot of an area of the college - A police hat is a prop used to indicate to the audience who we are meant to be rooting for - There is a poorly executed pan beginning at 0:27 where the shot is out of focus and the camera man decides to start and stop panning - Many of the shots are either over or under exposed due to the choices of sets where they filmed such as the main entrance which has windowed ceil...

Depict Research Post Once you have chosen 5, please justify why you like them and use media terminology at every opportunity. Do this as a blog post and ensure that you put a link to each video that you are analysing, along with a print screen or two from each video (you will need to snip the image, 'save as' and insert image). You can focus on: Narrative Camera Sound Lighting Genre Editing Style Themes and tone https://www.depict.org/2019/alex-jones-is-technically-a-human/?category_request=2019 Alex Jones is (Technically) a Human Alex Jones, American Radio personality and sentient burst blood vessel, explains in detail how he is, in fact, human. This short consists of an animation of internet sensation Alex Jones which follows him explaining how he is a human. It is intended to be comical since Alex Jones is quite an outlandish character in real life. The style of animation is very exaggerated to coincide with the persona...

Analysis of my First Continuity Sequence Shot 1 The first shot of the sequence is a long take in which a character walks from a mid shot to a long shot, we notice that there is some sort of struggle while the character is opening the door, as this is occurring the audience can notice a mysterious new character approach from the right. As the two new character manage to open the door we cut to a match on action. Shot 2 The camera is now on the opposite side of the door. One of the characters then places their hands on the others shoulders to which he then responds with a punch to the face. Shot 3 We then attempt a shot , reverse shot which aims to capture the punch from more than one perspective. There are multiple continuity areas in not only this shot but throughout the entire sequence, including more than one person walking in and out of frame Shot 4 It then cuts to a long shot of a scuffle in the corridor Shot 5 That is the...

The 180 - degree rule is a cinematography guideline that states that two characters in a scene should maintain the same left/right relationship to one another. When the camera passes over the invisible axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line and the shot becomes what is called a reverse angle. Shot reverse shot is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character (often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character An establishing shot is usually the first shot of a new scene, designed to show the audience where the action is taking place. It is usually a very wide shot or extreme wide shot. Eye - line match is a method of continuity editing whereby a cut between two shots creates the illusion of the character (in the first shot) looking at an object (in the second shot). Cutting on action or matching on ac...

My knowledge of cameras was already quite wide due to the fact that I had taken photography at high school and photography is one of my hobbies. The exposure triangle consists of the shutter speed which controls motion blur , aperture which controls the depth of field and the ISO which controls the image noise. I was unfamiliar I had missed multiple lessons so therefore I had missed key information and I had even missed the filming of my footage however, in my first lesson back I used pre-recorded footage which I edited with ease unfortunately I didn't come round to adding audio to my short film. I had a problem with making the end credits scroll from the bottom to the top of the screen. This was later fixed with the help of Sean but I had already uploaded my finished piece. I've never used a mac before professionally , I'm used to using windows but I've found it quite easy to pick up since I have apple products at home and...
