Analysis of my First Continuity Sequence     Shot 1   The first shot of the sequence  is a long take in which a character walks from a mid shot to a long shot, we notice that there is some sort of struggle while the character is opening the door, as this is occurring the audience can notice a mysterious new character approach from the right.  As the two new character manage to open the door we cut to a match on action. Shot 2 The camera is now on the opposite side of the door. One of the characters then places their hands on the others shoulders to which he then responds with a punch to the face. Shot 3 We then attempt a shot , reverse shot which aims to capture the punch from more than one perspective. The  180 - degree rule  is a cinematography guideline that states that two characters in a scene should maintain the same left/right relationship to one another. When the camera passes over the invisible axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line and the shot becomes what is called a reverse angle.  Shot reverse shot  is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character (often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character An  establishing shot  is usually the first shot  of a new scene, designed to show the audience where the action is taking place.
